A key piece in your home can make a real style statement.
When we are designing show homes, we take time to think in detail about the target audience and exactly who will be buying your apartments or houses.
This is the first in our series of ‘hero pieces’ – statement pieces included in our show home design. To have a bit of fun we have taken Nici, Sam, Sara, and Holly – all integral to Style Revolution, sharing with you a little bit about their dream chair, and why it works alongside their personality and style.
Statement pieces become the focus of your design, drawing people in, and catching their attention, helping to set the tone of the room and the home. This can be a piece of furniture, a piece of art or a piece of home décor. Try to consider the size of the room and other items which will also be in the room and obviously don’t forget to have fun with it! There are no rules as to your statement, it could be something classical and minimal or it can be loud and eccentric!
Outside of work Nici loves garden design, having finished her home she has moved outside! She likes nothing better than a mug of tea (she’s quite specific about having a bone china mug) although this can quite easily be swapped for a glass of gin and tonic – her favourite is Dancing Dragontail Summer Gin or Batts Hill Cucumber and Clementine Gin! Whilst drinking her G&T she loves looking through her garden design books and seed catalogues – her favourite is definitely @SarahRaven.
Her perfect chair has a foot stool, or a chair she can put up her feet on (she’s never has lots of time to put up her feet). She is also known for being obsessed about plumping cushions (and a ‘chop’ in a cushion) so her perfect chair would have a gorgeous cushion and throw, with a mix of classic / contemporary style!
Sam would also say that she never sits down… but that isn’t quite true as she needs to sit down after her mammoth work out sessions and half marathons! Sam loves a great movie with a glass of wine. Her chair would be contemporary, not fussy, but super comfortable, clean lines and super stylish. She would recommend a glass of Bolney Rose Sparkling Wine to accompany it!
Sara has just bought her first home and is in the process of designing and remodelling every room. She would give anything to be sitting in her dream sitting room, in her dream chair (but that’s a long way off with all the work she has planned). Sara has exceptional design taste – loving a mixture of vintage and contemporary eclectic style, with inspiration from her travels around the world.
Her dream chair would be a chic but comfortable love chair with a footstall, whilst sipping on an Earl Grey tea and snuggled under a cashmere throw!
Holly is the queen of organisation – a place for everything… ordered, tidy and structured. She loves clean lines and contemporary designs.
Cocktails bars and live music are definitely on her agenda, as well as travelling, her most recent trip was to South Africa for her honeymoon. Her dream chair is elegant, simple design and beautifully styled, and if possible with a perfect cocktail in hand… if you are looking for inspiration look no further than Tom Savano handcrafted cocktails from around the world!
When designing show homes, we always think about statement pieces and the importance of accessorizing. We take into consideration the style of property, the specification, and the target buyer before we consider the final pieces. It’s never one shoe fits all, each show home is totally unique, everything about it needs to stand out, especially the interior décor.
